As you guys already know, I absolutely love Redbubble! It’s a fantastic website where you can get beautiful artwork printed on almost everything, ranging from clothing, to phone cases, to duvet covers, and notebooks! Not only can you get unique pieces to wear, but you’ll be supporting the artists you love at the same time. I was more than excited to join them for their spring campaign. I picked out a few Studio Ghibli inspired pieces featuring some awesome fanart from super talented artists!
I have a few pieces to share with you today! There’s a fun giveaway at the end where you can win my featured pieces, so keep reading! 🙂
I’m absolutely in love with this Spectrum t-shirt by Ilona Hibernis. The print features layered silhouettes of characters from Studio Ghibli’s film Spirited Away. I love this art style – it’s very unique and recognizable! Somehow all of my black shirts end up covered in cat hair. Oh Hyap…
We took the train downtown since Ripley’s Aquarium is right next door to Union station. There were huge crowds of people that evening near the Air Canada Centre as well because the Toronto Raptors were playing against Miami Heat. Lots of great energy because the Raptors had a head start, you could hear the crowd cheering from blocks away! I’m going to stop here because I really don’t know anything about basketball but the Raptors ended up winning so at least there’s that!
We stopped off by Roundhouse Park to take photos. It’s right across from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and it’s full of old train cars. Very Ghibli-esque…
I love Redbubble shirts and totes – I don’t know how they do it, but the prints always come out looking so bright, colourful, and vibrant. The bag is canvas and has long thick black straps.
I also picked out this lovely phone case that I featured in my Maid Cafe post, also by Ilona Hibernis. This time, the art features a silhouette of Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service! Another one of my favourite Studio Ghibli movies. It’s just so sweet and the story really warms my soul. What makes the movie so special is its lack of an enemy or somebody in opposition to the main character – it’s simply the story of a girl finding her way and growing as a person (or rather, a little witch)! The music has some of my favourite movie scores! The 25th Anniversary concert by Joe Hisaishi makes me cry every time, definitely give this a listen when you have the chance!
These cases are hard plastic! The designs don’t scratch easily at all which is great, and this is coming from someone who literally drops their phone once a day.
The Cat Returns
As soon as I saw The Hermitage Court Chamber Herald Cat shirt, I thought of The Cat Returns! Another one of my fave Ghibli films. The artist, Ldarro, also has an entire gallery of Royal Cat prints. It’s such a striking design too – I actually got a lot of compliments on it! The printing on this shirt is absolutely gorrrrgeous as well. (The graphic tees are in unisex sizing – for reference, an S seems to fit like a women’s M.)
Now for the fun part!
