Hello everyone! Now I’m sure you all know by now that I’m an absolute lipstick fiend – I absolutely love my lip products! I’ve been a fan of Bite Beauty products for ages now, ever since I got my hands on two gorgeous orange toned Amuse Bouche lipsticks in the shades Gingersnap and Sweet Cream (which I reviewed here). So you can imagine that it was a dream come true when the little Bite Beauty fairy dropped off some goodies in my mailbox, including a selection of the Amuse Bouche line, Matte Creme lip crayons, and the 2016 Mauvember shade!
Keep reading for my review and swatches!
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks
Swipe on bold, creamy lip color with Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche. Created and crafted by hand, Bite’s small batch, low-heat process preserves a balanced blend of lip-quenching nutrients, vitamins, and omega oils that are essential for achieving healthy-looking lips. Made with 12 edible oils and triple milled pigments, this lipstick provides saturated lip color with weightless coverage and a citrus flavor made from fresh pressed fruit.
I received four shades! Two swipes are pictured in the swatches above.
- Sake* – dusty mauve
- Mauvember 2016* – creamy mauve, slightly warmer and more purple-toned than Sake
- Persimmon* – intense orange-red
- Maple* – brick red
The formula of the Amuse Bouche line has got to be one of my all time favourite lipstick formulations! The bullet has a pointed tip for precision application. The lipstick itself has insane pigmentation and creamy application. The Amuse Bouche lipsticks also have a light citrus fragrance, but it isn’t obtrusive and only lingers on the lips for a few minutes after application.
Surprisingly, Maple is probably my favourite shade of the bunch! I typically don’t wear red lipsticks because I used to think I looked like a clown. I guess I was just wearing the wrong shades! Maple is such a gorgeous, true brick red and it’s been my go-to for the everyday lipstick n’ liner, as well as dinner and drinks. A classic, elegant, creamy red.
Bite Beauty Mauvember 2016
Bite Beauty also introduced their limited edition 2016 Mauvember shade. I’d say it leans more on the warmer, purple side than the dusty mauves in my current lipstick collection. It’s bright but wearable. The pigmentation is absolutely wonderful, and the proceeds goes to support men’s health research and the Movember Foundation! I think wearing a pretty lipstick is much more fun than growing out a hairy mustache, right? 😉
Inspired by her Father’s winning battle with prostate cancer, BITE Founder Susanne Langmuir wanted a fun, easy, and meaningful way for women, called Mo’Sistas, to support the men in their lives who face health issues. BITE’s custom-blended mauve shade is a way for women to proudly participate, spark conversation, and ultimately raise funds for men’s health during the month of November. One hundred percent of BITE’s proceeds and half of all Mauvember 2016 lipstick sales go directly to the Movember Foundation.
The Mauvember 2016 shade is available in Sephora stores in both Canada and the US!
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche – Battle of the Orange Shades
I thought I’d pop this little comparison in here, since my collection of orange hues seems to be growing! I have three shades pictured above. Gingersnap and Sweet Cream look very similar in the swatch, but they look quite different! For an indepth rundown, check out my review here.
- Gingersnap* – a fresh peach. My go-to during the summer when I wanted something light and bright.
- Sweet Cream – a muted peach. Less bright and more red-toned… a comfortable coral shade. Probably my most worn Bite Beauty shade because I can throw it on and know that it’s a fail-safe choice!
- Persimmon* – an intense orange-red. Bright and in your face! Fun for a night out when you’re feeling spicy and don’t want to stick to a classic red.
Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayons
I was also sent three shades of the Matte Creme Lip Crayons! I have never tried this line before, but I had high standards because everthing Bite Beauty makes seems to be a win. The lip crayons have a pointed tip and can be twisted up. Although the formula claims to be matte, I’d say it’s more of a soft demi-matte. I’d say that the Matte Creme lasts longer than the Amuse Bouche formula, and feels less noticeable when worn.
- Sucré* – a warm pink – quite bright and berry toned.
- Red Velvet* – true deep red
- Cognac* – warm deep brown
Bite Beauty’s latest breakthrough formula boasts a collection of beautiful nudes, striking reds, and deep burgundies with a matte yet moist texture. The secret is the moisture-locking power of orange peel wax along with the antioxidant properties of resveratrol. Each gorgeous shade is water-resistant and long wearing.
Luckily for you, Bite Beauty is currently offering a 4-piece matte creme deluxe size kit featuring the shades Truffle, Red Velvet, Orchid, and Fraise. It is currently $29 (with a $65 value!) – find it here on Sephora! They also have a Discovery Set with some of their best selling products!
