Wet N Wild Spring/Summer 2017 Collection

I’ll admit, my expectations for Wet N Wild products were uncertain – my only experience with the brand included buying a crumbly kohl eyeliner when I was 14 and using that to practice my ~scene~ makeup. I was recently invited to their 2017 spring/summer launch, and was pleasantly surprised! Wet N Wild has truly stepped up their game, and I’m here to share a few of my favourite products with you today. Keep reading for the rundown…

Wet N Wild Spring/Summer 2017 Launch

I was kindly invited to attend a Wet N Wild launch last week. There were different tables filled with new Wet N Wild releases to play with!

Wet N Wild Megaglo Highlighter in Precious Petals

Let’s start with my favourite item of the group. These highlighters are absolutely gorgeous. The shade Precious Petals has a bit of a copper tone with a tinge of rose gold… Think toned more of a toned down version of Becca’s Opal . Embossed across the top is a delicate palm design. There is a medium amount of pigmentation and a velvety finish, meaning you’ll get a soft effortless glow. Pictured above is about one solid swipe with a finger.

Wet N Wild MegaGlo Blush Stick

This handy little blush stick combines a creamy rosy pink pigment with a glowy gold – very easy to swipe on! It reminds me of a cream version of Nars Orgasm I want to say…? A very pretty colour that can be sheered out for a natural glow. It comes in a handy stick form so you can dot it on the cheeks and quickly blend it in with your fingers or a brush.

aly Wet N Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick – Coral Corruption and Give Me Mocha

Naturally, Wet N Wild jumped on the liquid lipstick bandwagon with their Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick. I received two shades – Coral Corruption (bright coral), and Give Me Mocha (rosy brown.) The formula does not dry down completely and has a comfortable demi-matte finish. When it goes on, it feels like I haven’t applied anything at all! I was very surprised by how good this product is… drugstore brands are really stepping up their game! I love Give Me Mocha – it has replaced Bite’s Meringue as my everyday lip colour.

Wet N Wild Mattifying Powder

The translucent shade is surprisingly sheer, and I love it! The powder itself does a great job of keeping my combo skin matte AND feels like air on my skin. I love how it blurs my pores. It doesn’t feel cakey on me when I have touched up during the day.  The powder is housed in a black case, with a small puff housed in the lower compartment.

Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation

I would consider this to be medium coverage that is buildable. It feels surprisingly lightweight on the skin, and pairs very well when lightly set with the Mattifying Powder. It has a satin finish and feels comfortable on the skin. This depends on preference, but I like the paddle applicator because its easy to dot on my face without having to touch the product itself!

I have the shade shell ivory and it generally suits my skin light-neutral quite well, but sits a bit on the pinker side. I’ve been mixing it with a more yellow-toned foundation to balance everything out.

Overall, I am very impressed with Wet N Wild’s Spring/Summer collection! I refuse to shut up about how good that highlighter is – if you can get your hands on it, be sure to pick it up! Especially for such an affordable price point.

*This post features press samples. A big thank you to the Wet N Wild team for inviting me to the event! 😀
