Glossier in Canada | Glossier Haul, Review, and Recommendations!

Hello lovelies!

I finally got my hands on some Glossier bits! I’ve heard some of my favourite beauty bloggers rant and rave about the magic of Glossier for ages. It’s simple, it makes your skin look amazing, the packaging cute…. etc etc etc. The idea of a basic, no-frills products stood out to me, and I wanted to try it out for myself.

As if I needed any more makeup… however, I reasoned with myself because Glossier prides their products on the notion of “skincare first, makeup second,” which really aligns with my approach to beauty products!

skincare first, makeup second

Now that I’m working full time, I don’t have time to put on a lot of makeup in the morning. My current makeup routine basically consists of foundation, brows, a bit of blush/bronzer, and mascara. Very quick, just slap everything on in 5 minutes.

There were a few products that caught my eye. I placed an order to a friend’s house when I was visiting California, and let me say, I’m in love. Luckily for us Canadians, Glossier is now shipping to Canada! I picked up the Glossier stretch concealer, Glossier cherry balm dot com, and the Glossier lip gloss. Let’s take a closer look…

Glossier Cherry Balm Dot Com…

I’m really feeling glossy lips at the moment. To be honest, I never really got on with the matte trend – they always felt uncomfortable and drying on my lips and I stopped using matte products altogether. Maybe I’ll find a matte product I like, but until then, I’m going with the creams and the glosses.

There is something so chic and effortless about the brand. Although I loooove the packaging, I wanted to see if the product lives up to the hype.

I will forever tout praises for the Malin and Goetz mojito lip balm (which I have featured here.) However, I have been looking for a moisturizing lip balm with a bit of a tint, since my lips tend to go pale when it’s cold. Luckily for me *cough* my office is always freezing so I look like a bit of a zombie.

The Glossier balm dot com has the perfect amount of natural looking red tint for a pretty flushed glow. It has that typical cherry candy smell that most cherry-flavored products have, although it doesn’t have any taste. I have also dotted it on my cheeks when I felt like I needed a bit more of a blush.

For $12 you actually get quite a bit of product, and it should last you a bit! My lips feel moisturized and hydrated and they’ve done a great job of preventing flakiness. Hopefully it manages to hold up through the harsh Canadian winters. Needless to say, I will likely be picking up some of the other flavors as well!

Glossier Lip Gloss

…It’s the glossiest! No really, it is! I’m living in the Glossier moment with this gloss. It’s super shiny, not sticky, and feels fabulous on the lips. Seriously, it makes your lips look full and plump and shiny. I find that it does last a decent amount of time too. It’s looks so pretty layered on top of regular lip colours.

Glossier Stretch Concealer

Finally, I decided to pick up the Glossier Stretch Concealer because I was in the market for a lightweight pot concealer to use for those days I don’t feel like putting on foundation. This concealer has light-medium coverage, and probably won’t work out for you too well if you have dark undereyes or lots of redness. (Luckily for me, my skin has been cooperating well these past few weeks!)

I bought the shade ‘Light’, which is the lighest shade of the concealer. There are 5 shades in total.

The texture is quite slippery and creamy, and it doesn’t feel sticky or tacky like many other pot concealers. The texture kinda feels like those Covergirl Olay concealers (with the swirl in the middle.) It is very easy to blend out and dries down to a dewy finish. The light shade has a slightly pink-yellow undertone, which works well with my neutral skin tone.

I’ve been using this almost every day since I got it! So it’s a winner in my books.

Oh, and you get a sheet of cute stickers! The order also come with a sample, so I picked up the milky jelly cleanser.

Have you tried anything from Glossier? I can’t wait to pick up a few more bits now that they will be shipping to Canada! What’s next on my list? Probably Haloscope, and one of their Generation G lip colours!

I have mixed feelings about Glossier and haven’t yet decided if I’m going to make an order. The Generation Gs are definitely calling to me, but I’m not sure if there’s anything else I really want. I totally recommend the Haloscope, though! I’ve had mine for about a year now and it’s probably my favourite highlighter.
