Hello everyone~
The month of July has been insane so far. I’ve been busier than I’ve ever been in my entire life so far! But it’s awesome, I’m not going to complain or wish it was any other way. I don’t have many high res photos so you’ll have to do with some instagram photos, sorry!
Ahhhh this was the start of an absolutely insane month!! Geek and Sundry asked me if I’d like to go to Anime Expo, and of course I said yes! (Actually I replied to the email quite calmly but then proceeded to fall off my chair and foam at the mouth, y’know.) I was so happy to actually go and attend my dream convention, and go to LA for the first time!
I rushed rly hard to finish my Sumia from Fire Emblem, didn’t finish all of it though and ended up just packing my materials to finish it at the hotel.
Basically, there was a really big thunderstorm in Atlanta meaning all outgoing flights were suspended. The next flight to LA was 6AM the next morning…so we got trapped in Buffalo airport for 14 hours. That was not fun, probably the most boring 14 hours of my life.
Luckily Genie and I had each others company so we just talked and played a lot of Animal Crossing. At 6AM on the Thursday, we flew from Buffalo to Chicago Midway, and then to Los Angeles.
Anime Expo was absolutely insane. It’s so beautiful there. The level of cosplay was crazy, so many talented cosplayers there. As soon as I got to the hotel, I spent 2 hours finishing up my Sumia cosplay (armor got squished in my suitcase waah ;_;) Finally got to the con at around 2:30PM. Ran around the dealers room, met up with LA friends for the first time, helped host the Crunchyroll livestream, interviewed by Funimation and appeared on their livestream… Went back to hotel, changed, ran around Little Tokyo, ate delicious (but spicy) hotpot, drove around LA, went back to the hotel and then crashed. It’s hard running around such an exciting con on only 5 hours of sleep across 2 days ;_;
Back at the hotel – I had a room in the Millenium Biltmore. It was a little bit of a drive to the con, but there was a free shuttle right outside that took us straight to the con. But this hotel, man. So beautiful.
I had a room to myself, TO MYSELF~~~ I’ve never had a room all to myself…at my dream con…aughghgh!! I actually screamed and danced around the room, and cried actual happy tears. I actually went hysterical from happiness, but that’s probably because I was only running on about 5 hours of sleep over 48 hours.
The room was pretty big – had a desk, king size bed, chair and sitting table, and a nicely sized bathroom.
That night when I got back, I changed, showered, and actually died when I hit the covers. I’ve never fallen asleep so fast. The bed was so soft too, everything felt so nice!! Best sleep ever!!
Next day Domics, LilyPichu and I had our little meetup/gathering! So many people turned up, it was awesome!
Met Chanelle for the first time! She’s so cute omg! She’s an actress on the Cartoon Network show, The Incredible Crew. But oh man she’s so pretty and charismatic! So happy I actually got to meet her!
My flight actually left on that day at 3PM, so I could only run around the con once last time before rushing back to hotel and catching my flight.
Even though it was only for a day and a half, being at AX was a dream come true. Ahh! So happy that Geek and Sundry gave me that opportunity~
I’ll post about San Diego Comic Con in a few days! Thanks for reading! π
I can’t believe that I haven’t blogged in almost a month? What is wrong with me? π It makes me sad that the number of blog posts I’ve done over the past few years have been dwindling down. I love reading my old blog posts so I’ll be sure to make an effort to blog more! Ahhhgkjfgfh. I’ve lost my motivation to make videos and blot posts since I’ve moved home. My parents think that making videos is stupid and often say that I’m wasting my time so I haven’t had the determination to make content like I did when I was living at university. I’ll try harder though since there are some big things coming up!
So, here are some things that happened in the month of April.
1. Bleached my eyebrows. Now this wouldn’t be really take notable except this was my first time doing it. First mistake – BLEACHING MY EYEBROWS. Second mistake – DOING IT MYSELF. Ugh. I have a mild case of trichotillomania meaning I when I get stressed compulsive urge to pull at my eyebrow hairs. It started last year during first year exam season. I used to have really thick eyebrows but because of my trich, they thinned out dramatically.
I just wanted to dye them a medium brown to match my hair colour since my eyebrows are black and I felt like they were a little strong? Especially for my pale winter skin. My eyebrows grow out blonde and then turn black. Bleaching my already thinned out eyebrows turned the roots white. It turned out patchy SO I LEFT THE BLEACH ON LONGER AND MY EYEBROWS TURNED GINGER. It was terrible. I had to heavily pencil in my eyebrows so they looked somewhat less stupid.
I started using this Rimmel Lash Acceleration which has really helped my brows grow back to normal (Took about 2 weeks). It’s a great product – applies like a gel. Helped my poor eyebrows grow back thicker as well!
2. Finished my final projects for second year of university! I pushed all of my communications courses to my first semester meaning I had 6 courses… So this semester, I only had 4 courses! π That meant I only had one exam, but three projects. I got really good marks, better than expected! Still waiting for the email back from Leeds though…. :’
3. DISCOVERED FIRE EMBLEM.
Ooooohhh myyy goddDDD THIS GAME. It’s amazing. Probably my new favourite game series ever! It’s a shipper’s paradise, since a great part of the game relies on establishing relationships with the other characters, marrying people off, and introducing their children characters into the game! I originally decided to try out the demo after seeing PJ post this picture on his instagram. I was like “Oh, I finished Layton a while ago and haven’t really been playing my 3DS… Let’s try a new game!” I think the demo is still available on 3DS, so if you have a 3DS, definitely try it!
I’m also planning to do a Fire Emblem cosplay! I’m currently working on my Sumia cosplay – progress photos will be up soon! π
4. Moved out of my student housing… I’m going to miss this place! π [old photo, disregard my old watermark] Still waiting to hear back from Leeds… I hope everything is okay, I’ve been building up my future British year abroad far too much to have them reject me now!! Uwwwaaahhh,
Anyway yey! Updates soon, I promise! <3
Hello everyone! I’m back!
I love blogging but I always seem to get distracted and go on month long blogging breaks. It’s like I can only focus on one thing – either blogging or youtube – at one time. I need to update this blog more regularly since I see it as a kind of diary! I love reading back on old posts so I think it makes more sense that I post more often for myself.
First of the turning points is…..
I got my nomination for exchange!
I’m so so so happy! I was so worried since everybody I had spoken to got their email and I was the last one, I was stressing out so hard! I was convinced that I was rejected… It’s funny because I was at a club meeting, sitting at the table constantly hitting refresh on Gmail on my phone, when suddenly the email arrived. I let out this weird cry/sigh which startled the other group members. (They were all like !!!! wtf just happened!?) My friend leaned forward to see my email (because they all thought I was rejected after hearing that weird cry) and saw that I was accepted, and then everyone congratulated me!
It’s only conditional though, I still have to be approved by Leeds in order to go next year (I won’t know for sure until May so there’s still a chance I could be rejected but I really hope I can go!! (*Β΄γ»ο½γ»)). I’m beyond excited! The information session made all of us (exchange students) super excited, I can’t wait to go abroad and spend a year in England!

Last weekend, I went to the TIFF Lightbox (theatre where they show films from the Toronto International Film Festival) to watch From Up On Poppy Hill. It’s the most recent film from Studio Ghibli, and it’s directed by Hayao Miyazaki’s son, Goro Miyazaki! I loved this movie, it was so lovely, and the art was beautiful as always. Studio Ghibli really knows how to make a film that touches your heartstrings, and makes you think about how beautiful life can be. γ½(οΌβ½οΌ)γ It was my first time watching a film in the TIFF theatres. They show lots of film festival selections, no Hollywood stuff.
Oh yeah, before going to the theatres, we stopped off at Eatons for lunch. I love the food court, it looks so much nicer after they renovated it! So many cool food options, but I always end up getting noodles… (they were damn good noodles though!!)

Speaking of foreign films, I recently watched a Norwegian movie called FΓ₯ meg pΓ₯, for faen or “Turn Me On, Dammit.” I actually found the trailer while lurking around Youtube and decided to give it a go! I love foreign films – the different styles of shooting and quirky storylines are really refreshing. I feel like I’m losing the desire to watch Hollywood films since they all seem so cookie-cutter and predictable. But maybe that’s just my wannabe hipster attitude. π
It actually has a really high rating on Rottentomatoes (93%), and it’s totally evident in the film. It’s so wonderful. Definitely one of my new favourites.
In Skoddeheimen, Norway, 15-year-old Alma is consumed by her hormones and fantasies that range from sweetly romantic images of Artur, the boyfriend she yearns for, to daydreams about practically everybody she lays eyes on.
The movie has quite mature themes, but I love it so much, I feel a really strong attachment to Alma even though I can’t really relate to what she goes through in the movie. But I suppose that’s what a strong storyline and good acting does.

Took these photos when I took the photos for my last post.
Ohhhh mannnn I love that blurry effect! I borrowed the Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens! Although I’ve had my T3i for over a year now, I still don’t know much about camera lenses. I only use my basic kit lens (18-55) for videos so it was really nice to just play around with a new lens for these photos. I want to save up for a new lens for when I go abroad so I can take nicer photos! π
I also made this video two weeks ago! I really like doing animated storytelling. I’m thinking in my next video, I’ll mix vlog with some of this style! Recently I’ve been getting too obsessed with my stats/subscriber growth which is kind of bad, because I find myself getting too emotionally invested when my subscriber rate drops. I told myself I won’t check my stats that often and I’ll continue making weekly videos because their fun! If more people like my content, they’ll watch. If not, then no big deal! π
I think that’s everything for now! See y’all later~ β
Domineau and I will be attending Con G in Guelph next weekend! I’m excited because I haven’t seen her since Christmas. We were planning to do Pokemon trainers but the rest of our group had other plans, so it’ll just be the two of us plus some other friends attending the con together. If my Hinata cosplay arrives on time, I guess I’ll do that! Take it out for a test run before Anime North.
Other than that, we don’t really have too many plans… I guess it’ll just be to take it easy for the weekend, interview some people and make some videos, and just have fun instead of freaking out over cosplay stuff. I’ve really had to cut back on cosplay this year because I’m trying to save up some more money for my exchange! (My interview for exchange is on the 26th! Ahhh stress! ;_;)
Oh, and if you see us at the con, please come up and say hello! It’s always awesome meeting my readers/viewers! π
Wow, I can’t believe it’s already February! Time feels like it’s flying by so quickly…
I’ve seen a few instagram posts where people talk about their instagram photos, so I thought I would try my hand at that! I don’t have a point and shoot camera (my old fujifilm died on me) and I only take my DSLR out on special occasions… but I do always have my phone on me! So here are some pictures from the past month! π
L: I’m the VP of Finance at my school’s very first cooking club! One of my friends wanted to start one and asked me if I would like to help out. Of course! Our first event was really fun – we want to teach people how to make easy and healthy student meals. We made fajitas! They were so tasty. I was in charge of the meat station, so I taught people how to properly cook and season ground beef!
R: One of the microphones for my audio project. These are called binaural microphones – they have two mics and pick up sounds on both sides which can help create a ‘location’ for the sound – for example, if somebody whispered into one side, you would hear it in microphones as if they were whispering into that ear! We had to use these to make a soundscape. I think this kind of looks like ghost hunting equipment.
L: The winter here has been pretty strange so far. Unlike what people normally seem to think about Canada, Toronto hasn’t had a proper snowy winter in years! Mostly light – medium amounts of snow if we’re lucky. I We’re close to Lake Ontario which probably contributes to the slightly warmer weather, compared to places that get foot loads of snow like Barrie / Cambridge! Nothing better than snuggling under blankets though~
R: I am in love with this lotion! I recently subscribed to Ipsy (a monthly subscription makeup/skincare bag, created by Michelle Phan) I don’t normally like citrus scented products but I fell in love with this! The lotion is also super moisturising which is fantastic, especially in these summer months.
L: Made my own ringlight! My dad was taking down the christmas decorations when I realized that this could work as a sort of ring light. Lighting isn’t very good in my room, so this really helps out. And it gives my eyes a nice starry reflection!
R: Had to buy professional studio headphones for my audio class. They are circumaural, closed back headphones and I love them! These are the Sony MDR 7506 and cost about $135 before taxes.
L: Received my white mesh contacts for my Hinata cosplay! I’ll post a review of these soon. They basically cover your eye and create a white-out effect! You are still able to see quite well, but it’s like looking through thick fog. And the less light there is, the better you can see.
R: My cute mug~ I’m addicted to tea now! I usually have two cups a day – one for breakfast and one before I go to bed.
Sorry for the lack of posts, I’m putting more effort into my youtube channel! I’m about to hit 20k subscribers which is insane. I still can’t believe it! π I’ll be sure to have some more posts (mainly reviews) up soon, so please stay tuned!
I’m supposed to be studying for my public relations midterm tomorrow but I’m too distracted at the moment, therefore blog post!
I really hate the fact that I haven’t been able to blog very often, but the workload of second year is probably double the amount of first year! So many assignments due, and the sucky thing is that they are usually due in clusters. (5 assignments due within one week, with almost nothing due for a week, then another cluster, etc.)
In two weeks, Moetron and I will be attending Youmacon! This will be our second American convention. I’ll be leaving on the Thursday for Sami’s dorm (she’s currently located in downtown Toronto for school, so I’m sleeping over since it’s closer to the bus terminal.) We’ll be taking the bus early in the morning and we’ll be arriving sometime in the afternoon. Hooray for 6 hour bus rides! At least this one won’t be as bad as the ride to Otakon (11 hours ughhhh.)
Genie will be selling artwork as usual, but Sami and I will be playing reporters that weekend! We’ll be getting media passes on behalf of Crunchyroll, so we’re hoping to do a….casual? documentary style con report type of video. Interviewing cosplayers, tour of the building, exploring artist alley, talking to special guests etc. I’m really looking forward to it! It’ll be a different, but relaxing change of pace since we won’t be wearing intense cosplays. My costume lineup consists of Listen! Mio, Matryoshka Meiko, and probably my cat kigurumi to derp around in.
I’m hoping to blog some more! I want to sort out my layout and change it up a bit, but I haven’t had the time. Would somebody like to make a blog layout for me? Wehh ;__;
Hope you guys are having a great day!
Instead of ordering a new Heroine Make powder pact from SASA or ebay, I decided to try out western brands again. Got this Revlon PhotoReady powder, but it’s a tad too light for my skin. I might save it for winter when I get a bit more pale, but it looks like I’ll have to order another Heroine make powder.
This powder is pretty good though, it covers nicely for a matte finish. BUT NOT AS NICE AS HEROINE MAKE POWDER. :c
Popped by H&M and picked up these purple shoes for $10! I love getting shoes from H&M when they’re on sale. These are quite comfortable as well. I’m pretty sure that H&M was getting rid of their spring stock, so they had loads of shoes, bags, and accessories for sale. These shoes were the only thing that caught my eye.
Also got the candy bar shirt from the Pinku Project booth at Anime North! I love this shirt so much! Ringo also got one that was yellow instead of blue like mine. It’s so sweet~ (qο½₯Οο½₯)οΎοΎ
The lighting in my room last week was really nice. I’ve decorated my room a bit more since my post about moving into residence. Maybe this is a bit of a pointless post but I like this post. Just something funny to look back on.
Still a bit messy, I know. Most of what people see from my livestreams is just my bed and Totoro. The messy side is the part you’re not seeing lol.
I’ve also updated my layout after the longest time. I wanted to change it to a darker theme… What do you think? I still really like my old theme but it’s more of a fall theme.
Hello darlings! (γ»βγ»)
Before I start, can you guys check something for me? When I try to click the [Follow via Google Friend Connect] button in the top right corner, I’m getting a “We’re sorry… We were unable to handle your request. Please try again or return a bit later.” message. Are you guys getting this as well? I just need to know in case the link is broken so I can fix it. οΌο½₯Ξ΅ο½₯)
Anyway, last Wednesday I attended my university’s Japanese Association’s maid cafe! I think it was for some charity thing.. I was still really excited to go though because I have never been to a maid cafe! (Basically a small cafe set up in which girls cosplaying in maid outfits serve you food and play games, take pictures…super cute!) (γ»Ογ»)/ I’ve seen them at conventions like Anime North and they look really fun so I decided to go with my friends Michael and Tim. (None of my girlfriends here wanted to go because they’re not into anime/cosplay. ) (οΎ_ο½₯q)
The weather was horrible that night – very rainy/dark/windy. Luckily the building that the cafe was held in was down the street from my residence.
Cafe was held in a classroom. It was quite full! Admission came with a slice of cake and some tea.
I had strawberry cake. Oh god it was the most delicious strawberry cake I have ever tasted. (Β°βΒ°)b
Tim had green tea mousse cake and Michael had caramel-chocolate cake! So tasty~
More pictures under the cut!
We only stayed for about half an hour but it was still really fun! They’ll be having another maid cafe in the spring so hopefully I’ll be able to attend that as well. β§(Β΄β½ο½)β¦

This weekend, my lovely waifu Ringo came over to my university! Haven’t seen her since Fan Expo ;_;
Went along with Wasi and Zarrar to see Zombie Walk (basically a parade where people dress up as realllly scary looking zombies! Quite a spectacle – you can see some awesome photos here!) . We ended up getting to Toronto a bit later than expected due to traffic. οΌ;Β΄β½ο½A“
Dundas square at night – it was really crowded because there was a street performer there!
(This picture pretty much sums up the night haha!) Ξ³(β½Β΄ )οΎγΎ( ο½β½)γ
After we met up with Anton, Nancy and Jeanie for dinner! It was lots of fun since I hadn’t seen them in a really long time. Since it was really late, everyone ended up sleeping over at Bzhaun’s apartment, who had a really nice view of the CN tower + Lake Ontario!
Ringo and I were so tired the next day. (Β΄οΌΏο½ο½‘) We basically ended up spending half the day on buses since part of the highway was closed off so the ride back was super slow. All in all it was really fun getting to hang out with everyone again! It was a nice distraction before the upcoming hellish week (History essay for Thursday, Linguistics midterm exams on Thursday and Friday) (/_;)/~~ Somebody save me…
I’ll try to make a scheduled post showing you some of the pics I got from the cosplay event last week- got some nice studio photos! (βΒ΄Οο½β)γ
Hi guys!
I upadated my blog layout (again)! What do you think? I’ m not all too sure on the background yet, might change that to something softer!
Anyway, sorry for not updating very often! I’m quite behind on the reviews I’m supposed to write haha…
I’m busy buying all the stuff I need for university (moving out in two weeks, yippee!) as well as scrambling to finish my cosplay stuff for Fan Expo. As a matter of fact, I’m going to Sami’s house tomorrow to help sweatshop her STRength cosplay! We’ve got only a few days left as Fan Expo is next weekend!
I hope you guys can understand! I’ll make sure to finish all my cosplay stuff by Tuesday so I can spend Wednesday writing up scheduled blog posts and making some videos for my youtube channel!
Oh, I also got my sexy new laptop ;D Will be spamming pics as well.
Finally I’m able to play games on my laptop without the crazy lag like on my dad’s desktop or mom’s laptop! If anybody has a Steam account, add me! I’m Cherrriim ! So if you guys are ever up for playing some Team Fortress 2 or L4D 2, msg me on there π
So yeah, see you guys in a a bit! π
During the Scottish presentation thing, when they were getting the dogs ready, a bunch of old dude came on in kilts and sang scottish songs. 8’D
