A Giant Korean Skincare Haul

Cosrx Snail Mucin 96 Essence 01

Sounds like a clickbaity beauty guru Youtube videos that you end up clicking on because it sounds gross yet weirdly intriguing at the same time.

Countless bloggers touted snail products as being holy grails in their skincare routine.

Today, I’ll be sharing part 1 of my giant K-Beauty haul – the skincare items!

Many of them being…snail skincare!

I saw an almost instant boost in the appearance of my skin after just a few days of using these products.

Apparently snail mucin is a magical skincare ingredient that has the ability to repair everything from dry patches, to acne breakouts, to hyperpigmentation.

Hell yea I’m all for putting snail slime on my face if that means I have flawless and hydrated skin!

So when I made my giant k-beauty haul, I had to pick up some snail mucin infused skincare! Today, I’ll be reviewing 5 different snail products.

But how many snail products does a girl even need?

Probably not that many, but my mom jumped in on my haul as well so I’ve been testing some of her products as well (hehehehe)

Sephora VIB haul

Hello lovelies!

Jumping back into the swing of blogging after a hectic few weeks. I might do a personal update post later… still trying to decide because I’m so exhausted from trying to correct my sleep schedule. The 9-5 really wrecks the college student body, lemme tell ya.

Anyway, today’s post is a long one.  What did you pick up during the Sephora VIB sale? Can you believe that I held out on ordering between February to April (self control, amirite?) 15% isn’t even much either (basically the cost of tax,) but Sephora hardly has any sales so in the end, it was worth it.

Enough rambling – let’s do this!

Boxing Day Beauty Haul | Sephora & BeautyBoutique

A little bit of Boxing Day beauty shopping…

I love Christmas, but I will admit, I do love looking at all the Boxing Day deals that come in following week. If 2016 was my year of discovering new makeup, then 2017 will be the year of skincare. I picked up a few of Sephora’s boxing day value sets with some Christmas giftcards, as well as some skincare and makeup bits from BeautyBoutique.

Sephora VIB Sale 2016; What I Picked Up!

It’s that tiiiiiime again…

…Sephora spring sale! As per the usual spring event, VIBs had 15% off their purchases. Unfortunately for us Canadians, this pretty much just covers tax (13% in Ontario). Woo, no tax and 2% off! What’s a steal! I’ll take any type of discount I can get though – I used this opportunity to stock up on some items that are going to run out between now and the next sale.

I used ebates for the current 4% cash back – seriously, if you’re not already doing this, get started! You use the site’s affiliate links and get cash back through online purchases! It’s great – check it out here! 😀

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Gingersnap

I literally just did a post about my first Bite Beauty purchase – Amuse Bouche lipstick in Sweet Cream (which you can read about here). I’m completely addicted to the formula – it’s so creamy and longlasting, and fades to a matte finish. It’s a brighter peach colour compared to Sweet Cream, which is a bit deeper and red-toned.

I had $15 left on my gift card so I figured I may as well get Gingersnap since it’s the perfect summer peach! So I only really had to pay $14 for another Amuse Bouche! Awww yeeeeea.

Swipe on bold, creamy lip color with Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche. Created and crafted by hand, Bite’s small batch, low-heat process preserves a balanced blend of lip-quenching nutrients, vitamins, and omega oils that are essential for achieving healthy-looking lips. Made with 12 edible oils and triple milled pigments, this lipstick provides saturated lip color with weightless coverage and a citrus flavor made from fresh pressed fruit.

Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray

I’ve been using the UD Makeup Setting Sprays for years now! I’ve only used Deslick and I’m running low on my current bottle of All Nighter. I decided to try out Chill, which seems like it’ll work well for the summer! One bottle will last me for a very long time, so I only ever buy it on sale. I find that all of the UD setting sprays are quite similar, but this one has a cooling effect on the skin, very refreshing.

To stop makeup meltdown, just Chill. Perfect for drier or combination skin, Chill mists on to keep makeup from smudging or settling into fine lines. Temperature Control Technology actually chills the surface of your makeup to keep it looking gorgeously just-applied for up to 12 hours.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

My holy grail face cream. The Ultra Repair Cream is amazing. It repairs and hydrates my dry skin super quickly, and works especially well during the winter months. I would have bought the larger tube but it was sold out, and I hate the tub designs. If you suffer from dry/chapped skin, this is a life saver!

Chloe Love Story Eat De Parfum Rollerball

Chloe scents are so lovely and romantic. My previous rollerball – the Chloe original scent- is almost finished, and I absolutely needed to pick up another one! Love Story seems a bit stronger than the original, and a bit sweeter. The rollerball format is more convenient as I keep one as a permanent resident in my purse, great for touchups and on the go.

Floral, fresh, and sexy, Love Story is the new unforgettable essence of seduction from Chloé. Orange flower oil opens the fragrance with a radiant, luminous, and intoxicating characteristic like the flush of new love. The seductive and joyful scent of stephanotis jasmine, often used in wedding bouquets, gives the fragrance its heart. Finally the scent is grounded by the sensual diffusion, strength, and freshness of cedarwood, creating a unified and complex base that endures.

I also decided to redeem some of my VIB points for a mini Lancome Bi-Facil Double Action Eye & Makeup Remover (great for travel), and the Minnie Mouse tote bag for the Sephora collaboration! I don’t really wear tote bags too often but the design is super cute and I figured it would be good to use as a grocery bag or something!

Aaaand finally, here are the three samples I picked up! I’m particularly interested in the Darphin oil as I love to try out new skincare and serums, especially floral scented ones!

I bought less than I originally planned – the Anastasia contour kit sat in my cart for a while until I finally convinced myself that I wasn’t going to get full value from it. (I was thinking more for cosplay purposes, but I’m still not sure. Still trying to decide, but if I do get it, it’ll likely be when ebates is at 8% cash back!) I also thought about getting the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation for something a bit higher coverage, but I’ll probably get that from The Bay when they have a free gift with purchase offer!

Did you pick up any goodies during the Sephora spring sale?

A little haul from Adore Me…

An Adore Me Haul…

I’m a sucker for bows, ribbons, and pretty lace. Fortunately for me, Adore Me exists. I’ve previously done a review for them in the past, which you can check out here! I recently racked up some store credits with them and decided to post a haul!

Many people seem to be curious about Adore Me‘s services. Adore Me is a monthly subscription service, in which you can purchase pretty lingerie sets each month at a discounted price. If you don’t want to pay the monthly fee, you can always just buy them one-off at the regular price.

I picked up two items (on two seperate occasions). I thought I would review them for you!

The Bath & Body Works Candle Haul…

Hello lovelies!

Last week, after a series of important meetings, I decided to pop by Bath and Body Works and pick up some candles! I don’t typically buy candles, or anything from Bath and Body Works for that matter, but they had the 2 three-wick candles for $25 promotion on! I’ve only owned two of their candles before and liked them, so it was a fairly spontaneous #treatyoself purchase.

I don’t burn candles very often because my mom hates scents, and I get non-stop complaining if I burn them for too long, haha….

I picked up the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent, and the Stress Relief aromatherapy candle in eucalyptus spearmint. I’m very picky with my scents – I don’t like anything too strong, sweet, or heavy. I’m absolutely in love with these scents though!

I’ve tried the Bath and Body Works aromatherapy line before, but only their bubble baths lines. I liked the smell of the anti-stress candle the most. It’s ‘eucalyptus spearmint’ scent, which I feel is a soft mint scent, with warm eucalpytus undertones. I’m not sure if I’m explaining this very well, but it’s a very comforting scent for me!
There is also a Eucalyptus Mint scent as part of their White Barn range. It has the same packaging as the Japanese Cherry Blossom candle. (The candle jar is frosted white though.) I was tempted to buy the white jar so I could turn it into a cute brush holder for my makeup brushes, but the green seemed more ‘anti-stress’ to me.
Next is the Japanese Cherry Blossom candle! I haven’t started burning this one yet. I’ve owned this candle in the past. I miss the sparkly pink packaging though, but this will do. It’s a sweet and floral scent that smells like the rest of their cherry blossom range.
I always make sure to trim down the wicks after I’ve burned the candle. This allows the candle to burn cleaner and last longer!
Overall, I love these two scents! I usually let the surface of the candle liquify to prevent tunneling. I can’t really pick a favourite… I’m saving my cherry blossom one for later. Right now, I really need the stress relief.
Bath and Body Works has some great promotions coming up, such as their ‘get $10 off a $30 purchase’, and more! Make sure to check for coupons, especially for the candles. One of these candles goes for $25, and the typical offer is 2 for $35, but occasionally you can get a steal of a deal!
Have you tried any Bath and Body Works candles? What’s your favourite scent?

Sephora Haul | Birthday Month

Heya lovelies!

GUESS WHAT, IT’S BIRTHDAY MONTH. Most people just celebrate their birthday on the day they were born, but I like to start it at the beginning of the month because…

1. My birthday is at the end of the month (August 30) and I can’t wait that long.
2. Saves me from sitting at home in the evenings on Amazon adding things to my wishlist.
2. I can justify spending some money on a Sephora haul that I would normally be restraining myself from.

I’m also a firm believer in treating myself. So, today I’d like to share some things that I ordered from Sephora!

WOO! Let’s check out my haul!

I bought two things from the website, and the rest are freebies or samples!  I like to order online because I usually order over the $75 free shipping mark, and you can get more samples/ beauty insider rewards online, as well as coupon codes! The Sephora website rotates samples weekly so there’s always something new to try out.

Sephora was offering deluxe samples of ‘trending’ products. I quite liked using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion when I got my Naked 3 Palette (came with pod samples). I thought the lid was going to come with a mini applicator, but it’s just a squeezy tube.

I decided to redeem some of my beauty insider points for one of the rewards. I picked up a mini Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Lovecraft. I always hear people harping on about how amazing KVD lip products are, so I decided to try it out. I’ve tried and loved the Kat Von D Lock-it Powder Foundation, (bought 2 compacts – pigmented and full coverage.) Smaller than I expected, but whatever.

Nars Satin Lip Pencils in  Rikugien and Cruella. These are the Sephora 2015 Birthday Gifts, available for beauty insiders! I wanted to pick these up after seeing Emily get hers after a recent Sephora trip. Again, always hear people talking about how amazing Nars lip products are so I decided to give it a go. I’ve never tried anything from Nars so this was a first!

Kat Von D studded kiss lipstick in Lovecraft described as a ‘matte mauve pink nude’, (Little bit too dark to be a nude on me.) Applies matte, dries well, and lasts for a long time.

Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien is a frosted rose pink. Has more of a glossy finish than a rose finish. A nice brown-toned rose, suits me well but doesn’t have very long lasting power.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in a Cruella. A scarlet red. I don’t wear very many bold red shades. I feel like my lips are small and wearing a bold colour just accentuates that. However, it’s very nice to blend out. Probably will make more appearances during Christmas season!

I caved. I caved and finally bought the ambient lighting powder from Hourglass. Am I a weak woman? Yes, yes I am. But I always swatched it in Sephora and thought it looked so pretty! I’m also a sucker for gorgeous packaging and it doesn’t get any more luxe than this.

This is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. Dim light is described as a neutral peach beige powder. I didn’t really want a highlighter since I’ve been using a Becca deluxe sample of their shimmering skin perfector and it’s the only one I really use… This powder is so finely milled and so lovely, looks incredibly flattering on the skin. It gives my complexion a lovely glow without looking shimmery. I opted for this over the ambient lighting palette because I wanted smaller packaging, and I have no real need for a shimmery highlighter and bronzer… NO RAGRETS!!

Sephora Meet Your Match 2015 set, with deluxe sample sizes for some cult lip and nail favourites. Mainly bought this for the Tarte lipsurgence pencil because I originally swatched Elite in store and fell in love, but couldn’t justify the $29 price tag… Found there was a mini version and some nail products in this set, which worked out because I love all of the colours!

I’ll be doing a full review of this set, so keep your eyes peeled! Should be coming out next week! 🙂

Follow me on bloglovin’ if you haven’t already so you don’t miss a post!

Here’s another one of my samples – a mini Atelier Cologne perfume in Sud Magnolia. I have another Atelier Cologne mini from a previous order (ssh) and this one is more citrus/floral scented, whereas the other was warmer/more earthy.

The text on the back of the poster is super cute! It says… “They met every year, without fail, always at the same celebration. He caught sight of her in the crowd. Her mask was adorned with white feathers and magenta crystals. He enjoyed a moment watching her search for him, but not for long as he yearned to have her dancing in his arms again.”

How sweet! ;_;

Anyway, this was my haul! Hope you liked it! Such a good feeling to buy something again after putting myself on a Sephora ban since school ended…

Have you tried any of these products? Which ones are your favourite? Have you tried any of the Sephora Favourites sets?
